Working with adults diagnosed with personality disorder

10/11/2023 15:30 - 16:30

Personality disorder is a diagnosis that is highly stigmatised and a term increasingly used as an insult. This session will look at work to help people who have lived through trauma and experienced biases in healthcare that lead to them being treated as if their difficulties are of their own making.

This session will explore:

  • The difficulties with this way of classifying distressed people
  • Quality indicators of effective help
  • An example of what work with this population can look like for specialists and generalists
