Legal Learning Session: Excellence in statement and report writing for court

10/11/2023 15:30 - 16:30

Writing a court statement is a serious task for any child and family social worker. Whether making recommendations about family contact, advocating for a care order or recommending adoption as the best solution for a child, social work court statements have the power to change lives. This legal learning workshop is designed to help you write balanced, focused and honest statements. It will explore what the courts expect from your reports and give tips on how to:

  • Identify the issues to be addressed in your report and use a structured approach for preparation and writing
  • Express your analysis clearly, critically and objectively, and argue your conclusion
  • Insulate your written evidence against cross-examination.

There is a fee to attend legal learning sessions at Community Care Live.
