Maintaining your professional identity as an occupational therapist in social care

10/10/2023 15:30 - 16:30

The 2023 Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ workforce survey highlighted that whilst the majority of occupational therapists (OTs) are proud of their profession and enjoy a rewarding career, many feel undervalued and not permitted to practice in the way that best uses their skills. OTs frequently cite a lack of understanding about their role by other professionals and feel frustrated by limited opportunities for career progression. This talk considers how the practices OTs use to enhance occupational performance in others can be used to support their own professional identity, roles, and leadership opportunities.
