Hearing children's voices: how we engage children and share their wishes and feelings in the family court

10/10/2023 13:00 - 14:00

Cafcass welcome you to a learning event on how we work to engage children, so their voices are heard by professionals and adults around them.

The session will be hosted by Sarah Parsons, Principal Social Worker, and a member of the Family Justice Young People’s Board. During the session you will hear directly from social workers about how they are using a restorative, relationship and strengths-based practice to engage children and young people, and the difference it has made in their work with children, and how Cafcass is using technology to support and promote this engagement. And from those involved in developing the framework.

Objectives:

  • Consider how relationship and strengths-based practice can support engagement with children and young people.
  • Highlight how the use of creativity, technology and innovation can support and promote engagement.
  • How to integrate social work values in practice.
  • See the positives of restorative and relational practice with children.
