Sarah McClinton
Sarah McClinton is the chief social worker for adults and has been in post in the Department of Health and Social Care since January 2025. Before her current role, she spent many decades working in local authorities. She was a director of adult social services at two councils, deputy chief executive at the Royal Borough of Greenwich and was privileged to serve as President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS). She is passionate about supporting social workers across the country to realise their potential as leaders within local systems and in her role as chief social worker wants to ensure social workers, social care and local government have a strong voice at the heart of government.
