THEATRE: The roots, effects and aftermath of youth exclusion and gang violence

09:45 - 11:00

Using a mix of performance and audience interaction, this adaptation of Chickenshed Theatre’s flagship “Crime of the Century” production explores the high-profile issue of youth social exclusion and gang violence. The performance draws on the stories of real victims and perpetrators living in the middle of the youth social exclusion epidemic to explore:

  • How young people end up at risk of gang involvement
  • The potential intervention points on the road to gang involvement
  • Whether issues such as county lines, gang involvement and child exploitation pose insurmountable barriers
