A rough guide to welfare benefits

08 Oct 2024
Community Care Inform theatre
Children and Families , Adults , Workforce
Why does knowing at least something about benefits matter? Because it matters to most of the people we work with, especially in times of austerity. In an hour, you won’t become experts on the UK benefit system – but you will be brought up to date with all significant recent and planned changes and guided to where you can find out more. This session will consider: • The links between social care and social security and why they matter • Important developments in Universal Credit, disability and carers’ benefits, pensions and family benefits • Where to get the support you need so some of the people you work with and for are not slipping deeper into debt and poverty
