This session will describe how the principal social worker (PSW) and principal occupational therapist (POT) lead practice together in Essex to create the conditions for both social workers and occupational therapists to do their best work. Attend this session to: • Understand how the PSW and POT in Essex have created governance, learning, and engagement opportunities to oversee and nurture practice in adult social care • Gain insight into how both social work and occupational therapy professions are strengthened by recognising what’s shared and what’s different about each of the roles and disciplines • Hear stories from practitioners about where social work and occupational therapy have come together to help people regain control and independence in their lives
