Assistive technologies for working with people with dementia

09 Oct 2024
Insights theatre
Adults
This session will explore a person-centred and capabilities-based approach to assistive technology and telecare for older adults with dementia. It will help professionals navigate some of the practical and ethical challenges around this area of practice and argue that assistive technology needs to be seen within a wider context of enabling practice with people with dementia rather than as a “quick fix” for risks and challenges. Attend this session to: • Explore a person-centred approach to assistive technology • Consider practical and ethical challenges around its use
