Working with borderline or failing students

07 Oct 2025
The Social Work Community Careers Hub
The Social Work Community Careers Hub

While it can be emotionally challenging to fail a social work student, for the student, practice educator and team, it is significantly more difficult when the decision to pass or fail a student is less clear.

This workshop will support practice educators to consider those situations where there are clear strengths, but also where there are areas for development that need to be considered in determining if the placement assessment criteria has been met.

The session will consider how practice educators can ensure that they are providing the best support to enable students to address areas for development.
