This session will explore what autism and autistic experience is ' and is not - and how that relates to social work and social care. We will focus on specific contexts where autistic adults may become involved with social care services including safeguarding and autistic parenting. We will then consider how professionals can work relationally with autistic adults using the Autistic SPACES framework.

  • Understand autism and how that relates to adult autistic experiences
  • Gain insight into what may impact and influence your assessment, decision-making and support of autistic people
  • Explore how to make assessments and support for autistic adults more neuroinclusive
