This session will explore the specific role of social workers in the charitable hospice sector. It will explore the development of this specialism over time and the role of social work in improving both quality of life for patients, families and carers and encouraging a stronger focus on psychosocial needs and responses from within the multi-disciplinary team. It will also consider the proposed role for social workers within the draft Assisted Dying Bill.
